Park Yoga at the Arboretum

This class will run for all Sundays in August except the 22nd by rotating teachers! This class will be taught by Niv!

Start Time: 10:30am (10 min walk to foster island, 60 min vinyasa practice, 10 min walk back out).

Location: We will meet a the visitor center at the Arboretum (on the side closest to the park, not the parking lot). From there we will walk to Foster Island together to practice by the water. 

How to get there: Plug the address 2300 Arboretum Drive into google maps, plan time for looking for parking!  Can also take the 11 bus and get off at the Lake Washington blvd stop, about a 25 minute walk into the park to where we are meeting. Or you can walk there!

We are all vaccinated & at full efficacy and are operating under the assumption that at this point you are too!

Wednesday: My Anatomy Yin Yoga

This class is a compliment to the yang intensity of our daily lives, with specific focus on movement and structure of the body. I co-teach this class with Veronica Dye who gives an approachable and insightful 7 minute mini-lecture about the selected anatomy focus for the sequence. Each week the anatomy emphasis changes with past lectures ranging from sciatica prevention, the thoracic spine, ball and socket joints to the sartorius muscle. It’s a really great way to learn small doses about anatomy and integrate what you learned into your practice.

The sequence itself is 7-13 poses(depending on the length of the holds) plus shavasana. Examples of poses taught include: childspose, supported fish, half pigeon and any seated forward fold.

Tuesday: Intentional Flow

This vinyasa style class invites fluidity into the practice and links breath to movement. We will kick up the energetic dust through intensity and then let it settle with slower movement and longer holds at the end.
